Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said he has developed a keen interest to study religious scriptures in a bid to take on the opposition parties, especially the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
While addressing party workers in Chennai, Gandhi promised to expose the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), for their misuse of religion for political gains.
“Nowadays I study the Upanishads and the Gita since I am fighting the RSS and BJP,” he said, further adding that he would use the scriptures to counter the “narrative of hatred” they are propagating across the nation.
He alleged that the BJP does not fundamentally "understand India," and "understand only Nagpur," headquarters of the RSS.
