Karan-Arjun Returns

The arrest of Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed - the mastermind of the 2008 attacks in Mumbai in which 166 people were killed -- is a "policy decision", the Pakistan Army has said. The house arrest of the terror chief had started yesterday evening following an order from Pakistan's home ministry.

The Lashkar chief, who is also the head of the front organization Jaamat-ud-Dawa, has blamed his house arrest on the growing rapport between newly elected US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. @PGurus

Secret of Mallya’s success revealed

BJP has alleged that former prime minister Manmohan Singh and UPA's finance minister P Chidambaram favoured Kingfisher Airlines head Vijay Mallya, a charge the two Congress leaders dismissed.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra produced two letters addressed to Singh and another to Chidambaram to back his allegation that the UPA government intervened to facilitate loans to Mallya's airline in 2011 and 2013 when it was in a financial mess. @Pgurus

Dostana of Crime and Corruption

A united front joint press conference and roadshow here on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav said they were like the “two wheels of a cycle”

“Our alliance is like the confluence of Ganga and Yamuna, out of which the Saraswati of development will flow… We have similarities and differences. We want to contest the elections on similarities, and will also have to agree to some compromises,” said Rahul, addressing the hour-long press conference. “Yeh dil ka alliance hai, mil ke jeetenge (It is an alliance of hearts, we will win together).” @Pgurus

Secret Service yells “Donald Duck!” instead of “Get Down!”

Jallikattu Hijacked!

Anti-national, anti-social and extremist elements had infiltrated the protests held by students, youth and public for the conduct of jallikattu. These persons diverted the peaceful movement, did not allow the protesters to disperse, attacked policemen and endangered public life and property by indulging in violence," the chief minister said.

However, despite provocations like being pelted with stones and attacked by mobs, the police maintained restraint, used "minimum force" and never resorted to firing or lathicharge, the chief minister said. @pgurus

PETA… No to laughter Silent on slaughter…

Supporting the demand for holding of Jallikattu, VHP said on Thursday the judiciary should not interfere in ancient beliefs of the Hindus and that those who are “sentimental” about bulls’ lives better demand a ban on cow slaughter.

“We urge all in the society at large, in all governments, judiciary and media not to interfere in ancient beliefs, faiths and religious feelings of Hindus like Jallikattu, Ganesh/Durga visarjan etc,” VHP International Working president Pravin Togadia said. @pgurus

Is the car depending on the cycle to pull it?

After two tense days, the Congress and the ruling Samajwadi Party on Sunday sealed a poll alliance in Uttar Pradesh, a move expected to consolidate the Muslim vote that would have a bearing on at least 100 of the 403 assembly seats.
The Samajwadi Party will contest 298 seats and the Congress the remaining 105. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, who emerged as the undisputed leader of the SP after months of a bruising family battle, would lead the alliance into the polls.

“A pre-election tie-up is a historical decision and will herald a new beginning for the development of Uttar Pradesh". Raj Babbar said at a press conference in Lucknow. @pgurus
